Artist Of Life

Every morning I awaken to a canvas, a set of paintbrushes and a variety of different colors. This art piece is literally my life. I am the Michaelangelo of my life, just as you are too.

Life in the human body is an adventure unlike any known creature of the Universe. We are unique spiritual beings having a human experience. I believe we were given this body as a way to explore the different forms of energy that we are a part of in the entire Solar System. We are the divine beings who shall be destined to be the true lovers of the universe.

You may wonder where I am coming from or you may not.  I am genuinely here to express myself in a way that may force you to change, but together in a way that is ONE. So start with yourself and be the designer, the fine artist, the priest, the shaman, the medicine woman, the witch, the hero or the farmer. Whatever your choice, CREATE the life that you were destined to live. Become the dragon’s head and let go with your tail.

I believe we are all artist of life and that we are here to help color the picture of the heavens, the earth or all that we are made of. Again, Please believe what you want to believe. Just remember to be creative.

Don’t let your creativity sit untouched in your soul. Think of the famous children’s song: ROW ROW ROW YOUR BOAT, GENTLY DON THE STREAM. MERRILY MERRRILY MERRILY MERRR…LIFE IS BUT A DREAM.

goodnight, sleep well and DREAM BIG : )

Solar Return

Tonight is Sunday November 21, 2010.It is approximately 9:35pm EST and my solar return is scheduled for 9:40pm EST. I am sitting here wandering through my mind as I  live on different clouds of joy. I feel surrounded by light, love, abundance and LIFE. I sense my youth, my adolescence and now my adulthood. I sense a call to work on integrating the experience’s and molding them into ONE divine be~ing. The Sun God’s arrival is a time to assert the new!

Although my official birthday is November 22 (tommorow), my Solar Return arrives tonight. That means, technically, according to the astrological data, my birthday is today.  I have added a description of this placement below.

This is how http://www.astro.com describes a solar return: (this description is a basic description of a solar return and does not predict the upcoming year to do this go to: http://www.astro.com/cgi/genchart.cgi)

Holiday! ***
Today is your astrological birthday, even though it may be different from your calendar birthday. As would seem appropriate with this transit, today is a day of new beginnings, and the influences you feel today will affect the entire year to come. However, this does not mean that the whole year will be disappointing if today doesn’t work out exactly as planned. You are receiving a new impulse from the energy center within you, as symbolized by the Sun. Therefore any new venture that you start at this time will ride the crest of this new energy and will very likely come to an acceptable conclusion. Whatever you do or begin today will bear the stamp of your individuality more than anything else. This is the day to assert yourself anew.

As I read and analyzed this years Solar Return Chart , I noticed a theme of dreaminess, passions, compassion and love. My path for the upcoming year also seems to be filled with a theme of nuturance, abundance, transformation and play. The solar return is located in Scorpio at 29 degrees and 40 14. The full moon is located in Taurus and is 4 degrees from the Sun. This means that the Sun and Mo0n are opposite. This theme is also connected to the themes above. If you want, feel free to read more on the Full Moon in Taurus by clicking here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/note.php?note_id=456300700282&id=632338039

The Sun is the giver of life and is also worshiped on Sunday. The weather here in Charlotte was beautiful! The Sun was shining and it reached the 70’s. The clear blue sky put a big smile on my day and my connection with the World.

Now, as we say goodnight to Sunday, let us also keep in mind that the Moon is Full and to be with the moon’s energy as well. This way we can create a balance between YIN(Moon) and YANG(Sun).

I am very grateful right NOW and GRATITUDE seems to a theme that is growing in my daily life, but feels even stronger as we approach Thanksgiving Day. If you haven’t already, please read my blog on GRATITUDE. Oh and that reminds me. Birthdays should be celebrated daily too. It is a gift to awaken  every morning to a new day.

As I welcome my birthday I also want to Thank You for being a part of it.

Blessings!

I have become my own version of an optimist. If I can’t make it through one door, I’ll go through another door – or I’ll make a door. Something terrific will come no matter how dark the present. Rabindranath Tagore

Gratitude

Attitude is Gratitude. This is a well known expression among many people who express their thankfulness for the things they have in life. I thought I would write about this subject as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday.

As we all gather around and feast, let us remember to give thanks for all of the things that we are grateful for. It is one’s gratefulness for things/people/places that brings more things/people/places to be grateful for.

Being grateful is such a blissful feeling. Everytime I am grateful for something/someone, I try and either thank that person individually or write a gratitude list. Just saying the word’s THANK YOU or I AM GRATEFUL fill me with light and abundance.

We should also remember to celebrate THANKSGIVING on a daily basis. It may only be one time per year that we gather with are closest family and friends to give thanks, but if we remember on a daily basis to give thanks for the things/people/places in are life, then we can celebrate this holiday year round.

Take a moment to write down all the things/people/places that you are grateful for. After writing down your gratefulness, read it aloud or silently and notice how it makes you feel.  I gurantee that you will feel sooo enlightened afterwards…

Happy Thanksgiving Everyday : )

With Love,

eARTh

(here is photo I took from my phone, not such a great photo, but such a fun project!)

eARTh is when you take a piece from the earth and turn it into art.

Today I made a piece of eARTh from a part of a tree. The tree had no more branches or leaves so I re-created it and made cut out’s from funky magazines and turned them into my leaves. I took string, wire and twisty’s and put the leaves on my tree.

It is such a creative tree and I love it as an added decor in my artsy apartment. It brightens the mood and adds inspiration to my life.

heART

I feel inspired when I walk through nature. While wandering through the forest I feel a divine connection with things that I see or experience. I often find myself looking up at the clouds and seeing images that I can turn into art forms. It is through my imagination and my connection with the heart that I turn the images in the sky, trees, shadows etc into what I call heART.

Children are not the only ones who see these things. In fact, I know many people who I have sat in nature with and heard them say “Doesn’t that look like a lobster?” Ok, so you got the gist…..

Try it!

Go outside on a sunny day with lots of funky shape clouds and look up. Do you see a tea pot? Oh Wait, look over there, that looks like a dog.

Great tasting Quinoa!

Being an independent female with a tight budget, a busy lifestyle and a choice to live a healthy life; I find it very convenient to grocery shop at TRADER JOE’S. I love their foods and I especially appreciate the prices. If you’re looking for something different to eat and dare to try something new, Quinoa is a good choice! Trader Joe’s Quinoa Duo is filled with lots of yummy veggies that are sure to please your taste buds! I especially love adding dried cranberries to this delightful dish as it adds a nice subtle sweetness. This quinoa is easy to prepare! First, locate it at Trader Joe’s in frozen section (usually near pasta’s) and then follow these easy steps! oHH! and if you want to you can locate the butternut squash soup as a side.

Enjoy this fast, tasty meal for a great price!

Saucepan: 6 to 7 minutes

1.) Warm a saucepan on high heat

2.) Pour the content of the bag and add a couple of tablespoons of water.

3.) Stir, cover, and reduce to medium heat

4.) Cook for 5-6 minutes stirring regularly (reduce cooking time for half bag)

Good Morning Sun…

Good Morning Sun….

One of  the best times of day to meditate is early in the morning. As the sun rises so does my breath! As I awaken from a peaceful slumber, I sit up and turn my face towards the east. It is said that this is also a very good direction to meditate/pray. From my own experience, I feel more balanced when I meditate/pray to the east, practice yoga towards the east and lastly, lay the crown of my head towards the east when sleeping at night.

As the earth turns and I am directing my energy towards the east, I feel more ONE with nature. I feel my energy flowing more smoothly.

In the past, I can recall when I was facing the West, how disturbed my energy felt after a nights sleep or even after a good yoga practice. Although I was aiming for a peaceful feeling, it seemed that as I look back, the direction played a big part in my practice.

And so it continues to do so as I have turned my head more to the east…..

I just recently discovered how in many spiritual paths, the seeker prays/meditates towards the east. This is true in the majority of The World’s Religions and seems to be very truthful. As I experience this myself, I will continue to share with you my experiences. Below is a link to why different religions pray to the east.
